The fare type and route will determine how Delta Airlines cancellation policies apply to your situation. In most (but not all) cases of non-refundable ticket purchases, a cancellation fee will apply. However, if you have purchased a refundable ticket, you will not be charged a cancellation fee.
According to the cancellation policy, failure to show up for the flight within the specified time will be treated as a No Show, with or without refund, and the value of the ticket will be forfeited.
Under some conditions, you may be able to cancel your flight and receive a refund under Delta Airlines cancellation policy.
You can cancel your ticket and request a full refund in the following cases:
Purchase your ticket at least 2 days prior to travel and cancel within 24 hours.
Delta Airlines cancels the flight.
Flight time changed by more than 61 minutes and booked in advance.
There will be at least a 4 hour delay overall due to the schedule change.
The direct flight has been rescheduled with a connecting flight.
Tickets are refundable.
A close family member/companion becomes critically ill or dies.
You receive a sudden military deployment order.

It is an emergency that affects travel, but at the sole discretion of Delta Airlines.
